Review- Wendigo

Intro
My first review and I thought I'd start off with my lastest figure gain the FFF wave. First off is Wendigo. Introduced in Incredible Hulk Vol II #162, Wendigo, rather the Curse of the Wendigo, has a gruesome origin. A ancient curse in Canada, a human can become a Wendigo when he does an unspeakable act. What is that act? He eats human flesh. That right folks, the Wendigo is one of Marvel first cannibals. The human turns into the Wendigo and only when he is slain, will he stop killing. A number of Wendigoes (or is it Wendigis?) have been seen over the year, most commonly fighting The Hulk, Wolverine or Alpha Flight (considering two of out three of those are Canadian, it's not surpirsing.) The first Wendigo had a more human appearance with a big nose, but Hasbro has decided to go with the now classic common version of the Wendigo.

Sculpt
The sculpt on this figure is fantastic. Starting with the head, it face in beastial with individually painted fangs and a menacing look. His mane streches from from his temples to nearly his tail. Down to the body, it is big and rippling. The veins pooping out from his neck are hard to notice at first but when you do you'd notice that they are nicely done. Most of the body is either smooth, hairly or has big veins popping out of it. The hands have no finger articulation in them but that doesn't stop them being nice. One hand looks like it should be holding someone while the other one looks like it should be attacking someone. The hair on this figure is nicely sculpted but it does make the veins hard to notice. The tail is a separate piece and is not bendable. Overall I really like the sculpt on this figure.

Paint
You know for a character that could have been all white, Hasbro has gone alot further then we're used to from them. Like I said, the Wendigo could have been white with some horrid blue tint in it but Hasbro has gone and made him white with grey wash on it. Since it covers most of his body there is not alot of difference in any area. But that okay for this figure. The only really nocticable diffenence in paint is the eyes and the mouth. Now the eyes for the Wendigo have been different colors over the years, from blue to green to red. On this figure they are blood red. The mouth is painted very nicely. Like I said beofore, the teeth are individually painted white and the gums and tongue are painted in a skin pink color.

Articulation
The articulation on this figure is limited. The head can only move slight because of the mane. He can move at his shoulders, elbow and wrist of his arm. There is a nice chest movement but no waist movement. That might be a good thing for this figure as besides fur he is basically naked, so a waist movement might make him look like he is wearing a diaper. His legs have ball movement thighs, double jointed knees and Hasbro ankles, which I really like over the peg movement of Toybiz.

Overall
Score- 9.5 / 10
Overall, this figure is great and I would have given him a full score but it's the articulation that give it that half a mark off. But if you thinking that it make it a bad figure, then you have the wrong hobby pal. This is the best figure of the wave besides the BAF, Fin Fang Foom. Check out some of the picture I have taken of it figure by clickong on the link below.
