NOTES: Jan Van Dyne was the shallow daughter of Dr. Vernon Van Dyne, a brilliant sceintist that was working on a communicate device that could contact other life forms in outer space. He ask Hank Pym to help but Pym refused saying that it was not his area of expertise. However, Jan was instantly attracted to Pym and Pym felt attracted to her and thought he resembled his death wife. Vernon went ahead with his experiment but a villian used it to transport to Earth and killed him.

NOTES: Jan went to Pym her help to get revenge on the villian. Moved by her courage, Pym revealed that he was Ant-man and offer to give her powers as well. The two then teamed up against the villian and defeated him. This started what was to be a looong relationship between the two with many up and downs (mostly downs).
