Powers; Jean Grey possessed telepathic powers enabling her to read minds, project her thoughts into the minds of others, initiate astral travel, and mentally stun opponents with pure psionic force, among other talents. She also possessed telekinesis, allowing her to levitate and manipulate objects and others, generate force fields, fly, and stimulate heat molecules to generate concussive blasts.
Her powers were magnified to near-infinite levels while she served as an avatar for the cosmic Phoenix Force. She was able to manipulate matter and energy on a molecular scale, although this varied on the Force's status and how much power it chose to allocate to her.

NOTES: This is Jean Grey second costume (despite what the 90's animated series said.) Jean Grey was Xavier first student however of the original X-men she was the last to join. She would remain a main member of the X-men for the original team term but left when the Giant Size X-men team first appearred.

NOTES: Soon after the first Shi'Ar saga, Jean Grey saved the X-men from a shuttle crash. She was about to die when the Phoenix Force heard her and saved her by putting her into a cacoon like thing. The Phoenix Force then took on Jeran appearance and emerged from the lake. Since no other X-men knew of this, they assumed that it was Jean. (Though Jean would go onto to were both Phoenix costumes later.)
