NOTES: Roderick Kingsley was the first Hobgoblin after a crook found one of Norman Osborn's Green Goblin hideouts. After killing the crook, he changed the costume slightly and began a career of crime. What seemed like a GG copycat turned into a major mystery as who was the Hobgoblin? Ned Leeds, Flash Thompson and more were thought to have been the Hobgoblin until, after Spidey defeated him, Roderick admitted he was the original Hobgoblin.

NOTES: After Norman Osborn was revealed to be alive and denying that he was the Green Goblin, Roderick Kingsley treaten him with a diary revealing his secret. Osborn broke Kingsley out and had him help find the dairy. However this turned out to be a plan to get him out of jail. After Spidey interfare with them, Kingsley escpae to the Carribean.
